SPPC issues the Request for Proposals Qualified Bidders
Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) issued the Request for Proposals to the Qualified Bidders for 4 projects under Group 1 Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with bid submission on 2nd June 2025. The Combined Capacity of the Projects is 2,000 MW/8000 MWh and will be located in Makkah, Qassim and Hail Provinces. Each project will be developed under a build-own-operate (BOO) model.
Raissy Trading & Contracting partner with Saudi Electricity Company
Raissy Trading & Contracting Company Saudi Arabia announced that it was awarded two Projects by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) with a combined value of USD143 Mn. The first contract, valued US$117 Mn is for Al Jillah Overhead Transmission line Project while the second contract valued at US$26 Million is for Al Rain Overhead Transmission line ( OHTL) Project.
RCRC Announces Launch of Eight New Projects
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) announced the commencement of eight projects under the second phase of the Main and Ring Road Development Program, with a total cost of over US$2.13 Bn.
The eight projects included in the second phase are: Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al-Awwal Road Development Project (Northern Section), Al-Thumama Road Axis Development Project (Central Section), Imam Abdullah bin Saud Road Development Project, Dirab Road Development Project, Imam Muslim Road Development Project, KAFD Surrounding Road Network Development Project, Bridge Construction at King Salman Road and Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Road Intersection and Engineering Modifications for High-Congestion Areas (First Batch).
ACWA Power partners with SEFE for Green Hydrogen Bridge
Saudi Arabia and Germany signed a memorandum of understanding to establish the Saudi-German Green Hydrogen Bridge between ACWA Power and the German company SEFE. The project aimed to produce and export green hydrogen and green ammonia from Saudi Arabia to Europe. Under the MoU, ACWA Power and SEFE will develop joint projects, with an initial goal of exporting 200,000 tons of green hydrogen annually from Saudi Arabia to Europe by 2030.
Asfar partners with Tamimi-AWN Alliance
Baheej Tourism Development Company, a joint venture between Asfar and the Tamimi-AWN Alliance, has broken ground on its inaugural multi-project tourism destination in Yanbu city. Spread over a 80,000 sq m area, it boasts four iconic leisure assets including a Beach Escape, a Marine Visitor Center, a Lifestyle Hotel, and a yet-to-be-announced waterfront tourism destination. The project will be executed in three phases, prioritizing sustainability through renewable energy integration, water conservation systems, and community-driven initiatives.
