Over the past year, Oman has adopted various fiscal measures to support the economy during the pandemic, which have begun to show results. The economy is expected to grow by about 5.8% in 2022 and will continue to record growth rates during the years of the tenth five-year plan. The economic diversification efforts and tax incentives for companies will also improve the business environment. These efforts underline the government’s willingness to attract foreign investments to diversify the economy away from oil by supporting sectors such as tourism, logistics, manufacturing, fisheries and mining, which are in line with the 2040 Vision objectives. Oman’s construction industry being the second-largest driver of non-oil growth of economy is witnessing rapid growth. A significant rise in the number of multi-billion projects is accelerating demand for building and construction products and services.
